HOW TO HELP
Donate goods
Have a clear out - and help NOAH too.Bring us your unwanted
– second-hand clothes,
– household bric-a-brac,
– office equipment,
– home furniture,
– office furniture,
– white goods, ie fridges, freezers, cookers, microwave ovens.
We’ll refurbish and recycle as many items as possible, before selling them to the general public. In many cases, we are able to repair white goods, and if not, we dispose of them in accordance with the latest W.E.E. (Waste of Electrical Equipment) Regulations.
Donating to NOAH not only contributes funds towards our work, but also provides a valuable source of second-hand goods at affordable prices for the local community, and helps protect the environment by reducing landfill. The more funds we have, the more support we can give to more people.
Please ensure all items are clean and in good condition. Otherwise, we are unable to sell or even give them away, which means they could actually cost NOAH money to dispose of!
Clothing
Currently we are in particular need of men’s clothing and men’s shoes so these are especially welcome. Unfortunately if clothing is holed or torn, it is not of use to us.
Furniture
Furnishings such as beds, sofas and chairs, must comply with the 1988 Fire Regulations and have relevant labelling for NOAH Enterprise to accept as donations. Please check for relevant labelling stating compliance before donating, the labels are usually easy to find, such as under the seat on sofas.
Computers, printers, etc
We accept computers and ancillary equipment that is relatively up to date. Unfortunately, if a computer is more than about three years old, it won’t be fully compatible on our networks and thus we are unable to make use of it. Currently, we do not require any old inkjet printers. We recommend that you take older computers and other unwanted equipment to your local council’s recycling centre, which generally have a special collection area for these items.
Electrical items
We welcome donations of small electrical items, for example midi hi-fi systems, stereos, vacuum cleaners, etc, if they are in good working order. These items are tested for electrical safety and then sold.
