Jackie and Friends Get On Their Bikes For NOAH

Local fitness instructor Jackie Neufville owner of Fittville UK Ltd got over 68 cycling fanatics on their bikes at Lewsey Sports Centre last Saturday to raise funds for local homeless charity NOAH Enterprise. Each of the participants cycled from 1-6 hours covering many hundreds of miles during the course of the day.

The centre hosted the spinathon in aid of NOAH Enterprise, where spinning instructor Pete Mahon and fellow instructor Kim Parr led the challenge, ensuring workouts were paced so those wanting to complete the full 12 hours could last the distance.

People arrived all day at the Sports Park to kindly donate clothes, shoes, food & toiletries for the homeless.  The friendly crowd also generously filled NOAHs bright blue donation buckets with the help of some very enthusiastic young ladies.

The event also featured live DJ’s Eli Brown, Don Neufville, DJ Phatz, DJ limit, Mick Foster, DJ Paks and DJ Stumpi From local radio stations and venues who generously gave their time.

Club Lewsey Run by Merrison Gittens opened from 11am through till late in the evening. They kindly put on a bouncy castle, candy floss machine, ice cream van, food and drink, with a portion of the days takings donated to Noah.

Gratitude and delight were the initial reactions of Jim O’Connor, Chief Executive of NOAH Enterprise. “The monies raised are very welcome of course, but it is hugely encouraging, not to say, humbling that Jackie and her team put such effort and creativity into staging this wonderfully successful event, that it was so well supported by the community and that it was made possible by the generous provision of resources by Active Luton. Thank you, you have made a difference to the lives of those who are homeless and living on the streets.”

Rough counts to date suggest that Jackie and her friends have raised in excess of £3,000 for NOAH. If you would like to donate towards this great cause please contact Jackie Neufville via Facebook or contact NOAH Enterprise on 01582 728416.
