Sponsored Sleep Out in Luton Town Centre
On Tuesday 30th March 2010 Bedfordshire Police and Luton Borough Council are organising a Sponsored Sleep Out to raise money for NOAH.
The event will be held in St Georges Square and will run from 9pm on the Tuesday evening to 6am on Wednesday morning.
We are currently seeking people to sleep out on the streets with us and help us raise vital funds.
How to get involved
Firstly, thank you for your interest in helping NOAH!
If you are over the age of 18 and willing to brave the cold for one night we would love to have you join us.
Please download our Event Guidance (57 KB) for further event information and take a look at the side bar on the right hand side of this page for details of how to fundraise on behalf of NOAH.

More about the Event
The event was the idea of Community Police Officer Amanda Salice who, through her work with South Luton's Safer Neighbourhood Team got to know NOAH's work and wanted to do something to help support NOAH's work. Amanda has been working with Laura Chalmers of Luton Borough Council, plus a number of other businesses and organisations who have pledged to help on the night.
It is hoped that the event will raise as much money as possible to help NOAH's work with homeless and vulnerable people in Luton, and to kick start fundraising efforts for the Luton Ark.
More about Homelessness and Rough Sleeping
People experience homelessness if they are living in insecure, overcrowded, dangerous, illegal or very temporary accommodation (e.g. bed and breakfast hotels, women's refuges, hostels, friend's/relative's floors, and squats)
Homeless people with literally nowhere else to go may end up sleeping rough outside.
